ART, MUSIC AND FINE FOOD – A WORLD OF BAROQUE PLEASURES (Sunday) |
 |
The LIECHTENSTEIN MUSEUM sees itself as a place for people to bask in the enjoyment of a synaesthetic experience for all the senses, where all artistic genres combine to unfold their magic as historic ensemble. Every Sunday at 11 am and 3 pm, Vienna’s largest secular baroque hall, the Herkules Hall, is the venue for music events. Since 2004, the Kultur-Management Wien directed by Christoph Angerer has been presenting a versatile programme of Sunday concerts which harmonises perfectly with the setting; this has been enriched since 2007 by concerts with the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER.

Gallery information sheets
In order to avoid detracting from the historically-based hanging of the permanent collection a deliberate choice has been made to dispense with wall-mounted labels. However, each exhibit is numbered, the number referring to a brief description in the gallery guide available in each room.

The new RUBENS Restaurant |
 |
On 22 October 2009, the LIECHTENSTEIN MUSEUM opened its new restaurant RUBENS Restaurant under new management. Reconstructions have now made it possible to cater for 125 guests inside the restaurant. The guest garden seats around 150 and has been extended to the tree-shaded section near Fürstengasse. The RUBENS Restaurant is open daily from 9 am to 11 pm. It prides itself on using products of the region, with classics of Austrian cuisine and highlights from the Liechtenstein repertoire on the menu. Wines from the "Hofkellerei" – The winery of the Princely Court – and other top vintners round off the range on offer. Besides à la carte meals, the menu also includes breakfast variations, lunches, snacks, pastries and desserts, and ice specialities.
